  1. This was very interesting to read. I can imagine Ireland being a key destination for me when I reach that age 🙂 been there before and the locals were really friendly and helpful.

  2. I love that you were brave enough to do this! I’ve mostly traveled solo my whole life, but I know it can be scary sometimes. Ireland sounds like an excellent spot for a first time solo traveler.
I looked at some of the places you suggested staying at and agree, they seem very affordable.
I’ve been to England and Scotland, but haven’t made my way to Ireland just yet. I’m from Texas too!

    1. Howdy, Texan traveler! I hope one day you’ll find yourself in Ireland. It’s definitely a safe place for a solo traveler, although sometimes it feels weird to travel solo at this age. Lol. England and Scotland are on my radar, and I have friends there. So, it will be easier to plan a trip there. Keep on going!

  3. What a great trip! It takes a lot of confidence to plan and do an international trip on your own, especially after many years. I love that you turned the flight cancellation into an extra day of adventure instead of letting it ruin the trip. Ireland looks like a wonderful place for solo travel, with friendly people, beautiful scenery, and easy transportation. Thanks for sharing your experience and showing that it’s never too late to travel solo!
