  1. We missed the whole area of Nusa Penida when we visited. We would certainly want to enjoy the beaches and would not know where to start. A fast boat seems like the perfect way to enjoy the most time on the beaches. And a motorcycle to Diamond Beach sounds perfect. That beach view truly is remarkable with the sharp rock formations. I can see why it is called Diamond Beach.

    1. It’s my first time, and I’m hoping to go back again next time I am in Bali. I think you need another trip to Bali, too.

  2. This beach looks amazing – too bad I didn’t visit when I was in Bali. However, on the climb, I would have stayed with your brother since I’m terrified of heights. Never could I climb those stairs. Nevertheless, I have fond memories of Bali and wish to visit again asap.

  3. We didn’t visit Nusa Penida when we last visited Bali and that clearly was a mistake. Diamond Beach looks incredible and its name does it justice. I can see why it’s one of the most beautiful beach in Bali.

  4. I totally like the hook at the beginning mentioning why Dimond beach is worth visiting. I got my attention and got me to read to find out why that I should not skip this beach. I can see what you mean. The rock formation can speak for itself. It definitely earned the name. I went to Hawaii at step beach and the wave was huge, but the locals did not care. They wear fins flippers and swim against the waves like dolphins. It was entertaining to watch them challenge the strong wave and surf.

  5. I have not been to Bali or to Indonesia as such. Diamond beach looks awesome. I would love to visit this place some day. This place also looks very pristine with little commercial element. Thank you for the detailed instructions as to how to reach this beautiful beach.:-)

  6. My boyfriend is a big scaredy cat when it comes to heights, but as long as we grip that rope for dear life while heading down, Diamond Beach looks absolutely worth it! I’m shocked the couple asked for a better priced room when it was only $12, but maybe they knew some insider tips about the room prices? Even so, $12 is more than a steal!

    1. Right? It’s only $12 and the room is nice! My brother-in-law said, maybe they will still around for another month and budget is tight. lol.

  7. The Diamond Beach in Nusa Penida,Bali is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches to explore. Also, climbing down the stairs carved out of a cliff would be a dreamy experience. And the rocks around the beach are shaped like diamond which is such a beautiful gift from nature. I would love to take a pic with the most intagrammable swing and the nest with the ocean in the back drop. The jungle cottage looks cozy at a reasonable price too.

  8. I would definitely like to spend at least one night on the island, in order to see as much as possible. I would like to include some time to relax on the beach as well, so I would stay at least 2 nights. Diamond beach looks amazing but as I’m afraid of heights, I think I would have difficulties on that corner without railings. That is scary!

  9. Lovely to learn about Diamond Beach on the East side of the island, and your recommendation to make sure we don’t miss it when we visit Nusa Penida. I love that it looks more peaceful than many of the better known beaches on the island. I think I’d find those steep stairs down to the beach a little scary but worthwhile for that gorgeous beach!

  10. Really detailed and useful post about Nusa Penida. I did my scuba diving instructor training in Bali 12 years ago and I did a lot of diving in the area. At that time sleeping on the island was not yet allowed. I really would like to return one day and have an overnight in the island. Sweet memories. Scuba diving around Nusa Penida is really impressive as well. Some of the coral reefs are still untouched unlike in many other areas in Indonesia.

    1. That’s what my friend told me about the scuba diving, especially to see manta rays. It’s cool to know that outsider weren’t allowed to stay in the island back in 12 years ago. I know that you could stay in Nusa Lembongan because my friend used to go there.

  11. Sounds amazing, I have never been to this part of Bali and would love to stay more here than the crowded areas of the island, this truly looks more like paradise and the price is definitely a steal for transportation and lodging.

    1. You are right! It’s very beautiful, still not too many tourists, and definitely everything is still very cheap!
