Landing on Uranus Fudge Factory in Anderson, Indiana.
Not long after we left Marion, where we searched for Garfield Statues, we started seeing the Uranus Fudge Factory & General Store billboards. The visuals and words are so playful. They catch our attention right away.
From exit 226 in Anderson, we drove around 7 minutes to Uranus.
It was still around 10 a.m. when we got there. We only saw two other cars parked at the front of the store.
The store looks like a house with a store sign and an astronaut on the front lawn. There are dinosaurs on the side lawn. Intriguing!
We parked near the entrance. I saw a fun sign of what customer expects to find or can do in Uranus.
Zoltar, the fortune teller machine, is standing by the entrance. He said something when we walked by him, but I didn’t stop. It was windy and too cold for me that morning.
An employee greeted us once we stepped in into the store. A quick look into the store, I can tell it’s not a spacious place, but a perfect size.
Right in front of the door is the glass display for the fudges and chocolates.
To the left, there was leftover Christmas stuff. I walked to the corner and found baby onesies and male boxers with funny words.
Then, a restroom, and at the other corner before I turned into the main display, were individually wrapped themed chocolates, candies, and popcorn.
Across the main display is where they put preserves, salsa, jars of butter, and peanuts. On the island are more candies and souvenirs like mugs and pint glasses.
Cashiers are on the other corner near the exit door. There’s a fridge that carries bottled drinks like Martian Poop, Martian Soda, and more.
In the back room, they have souvenirs like t-shirts, socks, gnomes, stickers, signs, and other fun stuff. I would say all of them came with funny words.
There is a restroom, too.
I saw saltwater taffy with so many flavors in this area.
I wanted to buy all the food items they had, but we were visiting at the beginning of the New Year. So, like the rest of the world, I resolved to go on a diet beginning January 1st. Haha.
But we left with four different fudges, and our son grabbed one of the sodas.
We had fun reading the words on the souvenirs, though.
Outside, there’s a booth where you can pet the alien. Next to it is an outdoor sitting for the summer and a photo booth.
After taking pictures by the sign, we left the store. I told my husband, unfortunately, the ice cream store was not open. Maybe because it was too cold.
The Uranus Ice Cream Company
Before leaving the store, we saw a separate building at the back corner of the general store. Cars were parked there. We drove there, and it turned out it was the ice cream hut! And it was open!
Outside is a Uranus Zoological Park with a playground and a cutout of some animals’ bottom. It is a fun photo spot.
Looking at gallons and gallons of ice creams, I decided to forgo my resolution in that room. And I wasn’t disappointed. Besides, I haven’t had ice cream since the beginning of our two-week Christmas vacation in Pittsburgh.
And tell you what? It was one of the best ice cream I have ever had!
So, don’t skip the ice cream when you stop at Uranus.

What do we think of Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store in Anderson, Indiana?
We love it!
The fudge, the ice cream, and the soda were delicious! Like their slogan said, “The best fudge comes from Uranus!”
I must wait for another trip here to try other food items. Or, order online.
I told my husband that they needed to open a branch in Texas. Probably in our town in the south of Fort Worth to boost the economy.
When I posted pictures on my Facebook, my cousin from Pittsburgh was shocked to find out there was Uranus in Indiana! She stopped at the one in Missouri a few times on her way to events in the Ozark and loves this store.
A visit to Uranus Fudge Factory and General Store was a fun stop.

Ha! They do love a play on words there, don’t they! The name of your post caught my eye, of course. Although going to Uranus Fudge Factory & General Store seems like a fun stop to test fudge and join in the fun. I also haven’t seen a Zoltar machine in forever, and I love that you ALSO stopped for ice cream. Sounds like a great sweet treat kind of area!
I liked reading about the quirky and playful atmosphere at the Uranus Fudge Factory – from the humorous signage to the diverse array of treats. Your enthusiasm for the visit and your tastings really brings the novelty and fun to life. It’s great to highlight such a whimsical spot.

This is interesting! It’s actually my first time to hear about the store and I think it’s a fun place to visit. The ice cream looks delicious.
I have a sudden urge for ice-cream although it is winter time here. No wonder too as from the pictures it looks delicious. How interesting that I have not heard of Uranus here in Europe. I was only once in an ice-cream making factory in Tillamook Oregon. I remember it to this very day.
As soon as I saw the title about the fudge factory I had to read on. My chocoholic hubby would not pass a spot like Uranus Fudge Factory on our travels. And the fun signs outside would keep him amused. I would probably head right for the salted taffy and want to try all the flavours. But I would definitely save room for the best ice cream!
I like that this fudge factory has such a fun “yard” to keep the visitors entertained and not just sell them fudge. Which looks delicious by the way, I love how it’s decorated. The “zoo” looks so funny, I can imagine how much fun you would have taking photos with your face in the animals’ bums. I wonder what Zoltan would tell me, I’ve never seen one in real life.
The fudge and the ice cream at the Uranus Fudge factory look divine. From your title I thought there is a possibility to see the manufactering process too. I have a knick for factory tours, actually. But of course, indulging in some sweets is always good.
I wish they offered the fudge-making tour.
I haven’t had an ice cream in 6 months! This is such a tempting post. I felt like tasting those fudges and ice creams. I would like to hear what the fortune telling machine says too. I really would like to visit an ice cream unit anywhere in the world now. More flavours to Uranus.
