Aloft Wichita Northeast Kansas: A Review of Pet-Friendly Hotel.
When we visited Wichita Kansas in the summer, we stayed at the Aloft Wichita Northeast hotel. Based on our stay at the Aloft Wichita, I’m writing a review for you.
Our two nights at the Aloft Wichita Northeast Kansas were sponsored by Wichita CVB and Aloft Wichita Northeast, but all of our thoughts are our own.
I chose not to read other people’s reviews of Aloft Wichita Northeast before our visit. I preferred that the hotel delight us with their services and hospitality. All I knew was that it was still a new hotel in a business district outside of downtown.
Staying at Aloft Wichita Northeast in Wichita, Kansas.
We arrived at Aloft Wichita Northeast in Wichita, Kansas, after a 6-hour drive from Dallas, Texas. The exterior of the hotel was my first surprise. The design and colors are very contemporary. It made me wonder what it looked like on the inside.
The front parking lot was full when we arrived, so we parked on the right side. I noticed a door on the side and assumed it was a side entrance. The door was locked, and it didn’t appear to be an entrance. So we dragged our belongings, including our dog Snoopy, to the front door.
Since 2017, my family has been traveling with our dog Snoopy. As a result, finding pet-friendly lodging during our family’s travels is critical.
Check-in at Aloft Wichita Northeast
When the sliding door opened, we were in for another surprise. The room was occupied by an open space lobby with vibrant colors and modern fixtures and furniture. I noticed the bar in one corner, with a door leading to the pool area, and a game room in another. Lounge chairs were plentiful but well-placed. There is also no wall separating the rooms.
We were perplexed because there was no front desk. I went there after seeing a man standing inside what appeared to be an island. That’s the front desk at the Aloft. The friendly receptionist greeted us and quickly handed me the key to our room.
While I waited for a package from Wichita CVB, my husband and son, along with our dog Snoopy, went to the room first.
I looked around and noticed the breakfast area was empty. It was known as Re:Fuel By Aloft.
Later, I discovered that basic amenities at Aloft are labeled differently, such as Splash for the pool and Re:Mix & WXYZ Bar for the game room and bar. The Aloft Wichita made me even more curious.
Our Room at Aloft Wichita Northeast
When I opened the door to our room, our son informed me that our dog Snoopy had received a welcome package. He had already opened the package, and Snoopy had devoured all of the dog biscuits inside. He must have been hungry. He also received his bowls and bed. The dog bed was also quite thick. Snoopy slept soundly the two nights we were there.
The room layout was unique compared to other hotels. Our room had a shotgun layout.
After entering the room, we noticed a bathroom vanity on the right side, against the wall. There was a mini-fridge underneath. The closet opposite the bathroom vanity housed a coffee maker, bottled waters, an ironing board, and a safe deposit box. Then there’s a door leading to the shower.
When I walked straight after entering the room, I noticed a long desk, a table, and a couch. All were lined up against the windows in a long line. The two queen beds were opposite them, separated by an end table.
Snoopy’s bowls were scattered on the floor near the desk. We later placed his bed between ours. He doesn’t sleep on the bed with us at home, and neither does he at the hotel.
When I entered the room, my husband was sleeping. It had been a long journey from Dallas, Texas. So I sat on the comfy bed for a while before we went out to eat.
A wall separates the bedroom and shower areas.
Our room overlooked the pool. The pool is small, but I believe it is adequate for Aloft Wichita Northeast guests.
Bathroom and Amenities at Aloft Wichita Northeast
The bathroom is the appropriate size. It only had a large shower, which is what I prefer. The toilet is separated by glass doors, and there are shampoo and soap dispensers on the wall.
There was a facial shop and make-up removal, as well as face towels, on the bathroom vanity. A hairdryer is located under the sink.
The coffee maker/tea service provided complimentary bottled water, and they replaced them the next day. We drank a lot because it was summer and hot in Wichita.
Re:Fuel By Aloft
The breakfast room at the Aloft was small, with no chairs or tables. Breakfast is prepared to order, and guests can select from a menu displayed on the wall. Breakfast Pots and wraps are available for on-the-go consumption.
Re:Fuel is open from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m., offering guests fresh, nutritious, and innovative food options.
However, we were unable to eat breakfast here. The modern breakfast room setup did not appeal to our 12-year-old son, so we grabbed something on our way to city attractions.
Re:Mix Lounge & WXYZ Bar
We didn’t get to use the game room or bar because our family was too busy spending time outside. Both areas look so modern with all the colors and designs.
There was a pool table, Jenga, and board games like Monopoly, Things, Yahtzee, and others in the game room.
When I got to the bar area, I noticed a bowl of water and a bowl of dog treats by the pool area door. I discovered it near the entrance as well. The Aloft Wichita Northeast welcomes pets. Or, as my husband suggested, a human-friendly hotel. Hehe…
We met the housekeeping lady a couple of times during our stay, and she was pleasant. She not only welcomed us, but also our dog Snoopy.
The receptionists were also helpful and friendly.
Our two-day stay at the Aloft Wichita Northeast flew by. We appreciated the facilities and the staff’s hospitality. I recommend that you stay here if you visit Wichita, Kansas. Especially if you’re traveling with a dog.

I am impressed that you visited the Aloft Witchita without doing any advance research. We normally scour the website and reviews before we visit a new hotel. But good to go in without expectations. What an interesting front lobby. And how great that they were well set up for travelling with a dog. I was surprised to read that there was no extra costs for dogs.
I didn’t want my experiences got mixed up with what others said about the hotel. That’s why I didn’t want to read the reviews.
Looks like you had a great stay! Never been to Kansas or Wichita but this looks like a cozy place to spend a couple days in. Plus it’s cool that it’s pet friendly. Thanks for the tip!
This looks like a great place to stay. I’ve noticed a lot of upgrades on hotels are switching from the traditional front desk and having their receptions and check ins central and open for the guests. I quite like this. I also love that snoopy got his own little welcome gift, you can tell the owners must love dogs when they do the extra bits rather than simply accommodating for for them, by just allowing them there.
I love to read reviews of hotels when we plan a trip. And even though we don’t travel with pets, this hotel looks very nice and modern, and something we could stay in. I’m glad that Snoopy got a good night sleep, and that they had been thinking about pets by getting water bowls and treats.
It’s always good to know about pet-friendly hotels, as there still not many, at least here in Europe. This looks like a great choice for Wichita and it’s nice that Snoopy can join along your travels too. It’s good that dogs stay for free!
I don’t travel with pets, but I know how important and how difficult it can be to find pet-friendly accommodation because my friends travel with two dogs. So it’s great to know that pets are for free. Aloft Wichita Northeast Kansas seems to be a perfect place for traveling with pets. However, this hotel also appears to be the ideal place for me. It offers everything I need during travel—great amenities, such as on-site parking and a modernly equiped room.
I do not own a dog but I can imagine that travelling with a dog requires special planning. I think it is great that the Aloft Wichita Northeast caters for dogs as well as for their owners. If the dog is welcome you are less stressed and more in a holiday mood. Also you do not have to bring a bed and bowl and things like that…..
Your stay at Aloft Wichita Kansas looked quite an exciting one with all the amenities needed in a hotel room. I had no idea that this type of room is called shor gun style room with the bathroom vanity at the entrance. And it’s nice to learn that the hotel is pet friendly with all the arrangements. The lounge area is indeed a colorful one and quite interesting names like Re:mix WXYZ and Re:fuel.
Yes! It was an enjoyable stay and we liked how they appreciated the four-legs traveler.
Hey this is in my area! AND I have a little dog that we would like to travel with. Big bonus they gave your pup a welcome package. I haven’t traveled much with our Evie yet but I am guessing this isn’t really common. The breakfast options look great! I will keep this place in mind the next time I’m in the Wichita area.
When you go to Wichita just don’t forget to take Evie with you. She will enjoy Aloft Wichita Northeast.
