Welcome to Two Worlds Treasures

Hi! My name is Umiko Buhl. My family and I like to explore Texas from our home south of Dallas/Ft. Worth area. From nature to small towns, food to roadside attractions, and famous places to never heard before destinations, we will share our experiences exploring Texas one place at a time.

We are part-time travelers, meaning we travel only when vacation time is here and most weekends whenever we don’t have something scheduled for the day. Just like most families, I believe. Sometimes we make plans in advance, and other times it’s spontaneous. Yes! I like to drive my husband crazy.

Originally I’m from Indonesia. So, when you see my posts on Indonesia, you can’t go wrong with them. I’m trying to present my home country’s travels as honestly as they should be. My husband grew up in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, so we travel there at least once a year. It means we got to see all the places between Texas and Pennsylvania and the surrounding states. You will find our exciting stories from those places, too. Of course, we like to explore our neighboring states, like Colorado, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. And I love Colorado and try to go there every year.

So, the only native Texan in the family is our son. He’s probably traveled to more places in the country than his friends in our small town south of Dallas. We want our son to know that there’s another world on the other side of the world we live in now (Texas.) There is so much to explore and learn. We want him to treasure every one of our adventures, one day at a time.

In August 2017, we had an addition to our family. Our four legs puppy, Snoopy. He also enjoys exploring new places with us. So far, he has collected 2 BARK Ranger tags from the US National Parks we visited with him, and he’s not stopping.

I hope you will find my blog as your new treasure in life as you dig into our stories, then and now. Enjoy!
