Thanks to our two friends who recommended the White Sands National Monument, we could sled in our summer road trip three years ago. Summer! Not winter. And it’s on gypsum, not sand! “What?” you might wonder.
Speaking about hidden wonder that make your jaw drops, New Mexico has one called Carlsbad Caverns National Park. This park consists of more than 119 known caves – all formed when sulfuric acid dissolved the surrounding limestone, leaving behind caverns of all sizes. There are two ways to enter this hidden wonder, by walking the Natural Entrance (steep, 1.25 miles) or taking the elevator down into the Big Room.
When our friends heard we’re going to Santa Fe, they suggested us to stop at Loretto Chapel. They said it’s a beautiful church with the miraculous staircase, where their son got married. After I googled it, I knew I have to put Loretto Chapel in our itinerary.
